DEMENTIA HIGH CARE UNIT

Dementia / Alzheimer’s being the disease it is, is not only difficult for the patient but also for the loved ones. Our staff are very aware of the strain that is placed on the family and are always ready to have a cup of tea and a chat.

There are 8 beds in this wing that specialises in the care of residents of the Dementia High Care Unit.

The Dementia High Care Unit has a separate dining area and lounge as well as an enclosed garden. The unit boasts full video coverage of the wing. The staff who work in this unit have successfully completed the care givers course through Alzheimer’s South Africa. There is a daily stimulation program.
